Allegations of Unpaid Bills, Contractor Payment Delays, and Questions Over.
TNN News has received information from multiple sources raising fresh concerns about the financial operations of several government departments, including allegations of unpaid utility bills, delayed payments to subcontractors, and budget constraints affecting summer maintenance schools projects. According to information received by TNN News on Thursday, staff at the Department of Parks, based at the Botanical Gardens compound reportedly experienced a power outage affecting the facility. Sources have alleged that the interruption was the result of an unpaid electricity bill. Staff at the facility was sent home for the remainder of the day. TNN News has not independently verified that claim. TNN News has also been informed that a number of subcontractors carrying out work for the Ministry of Public Works and Environment have allegedly gone unpaid for more than six months.
