The Ministry for the Cabinet Office and Digital Innovation is warning the public about fraudulent WhatsApp and text messages that claim to be from the Bermuda Post Office. The messages say a parcel has arrived in Bermuda and ask recipients to pay customs duties by clicking a link. Officials say the messages, the linked website and similar versions are fraudulent and did not come from the Bermuda Post Office. The public is being told not to click the link, reply, share personal or financial information, or make any payments. Anyone who has clicked the link or shared information should contact their financial institution and monitor accounts for suspicious activity.
