The Ministry of Public Works and Environment says it has received a credible report of a possible rattlesnake sighting near Gibbs Hill Road in Southampton on June 26, 2026. Officers from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo are investigating and working to locate and safely remove the animal. No injuries have been reported. Residents in the area are being urged to stay away from dense vegetation and enclosed spaces, avoid approaching the snake, and call 911 if they see it.
