The Ministry of Health says there are no confirmed Ebola cases in Bermuda after a WHO emergency declaration, but travellers with symptoms should call KEMH before visiting.
The Ministry of Health says there are currently no confirmed Ebola Virus Disease cases in Bermuda after the World Health Organization declared the disease a Public Health Emergency of International Concern on May 17, 2026. The WHO declaration was linked to ongoing outbreaks in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda, with Bermuda assessing the risk of importation as low. The Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit is monitoring global developments and maintaining preparedness measures with Customs, Immigration and international public health partners. Anyone with Ebola-like symptoms and relevant travel history is being told not to go directly to a healthcare facility, but to contact the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital Emergency Department in advance and follow medical guidance.
