Bermuda’s regulated ridesharing programme has received about 79 permit applications since its official launch on June 10, 2026. The Transport Control Department has approved about 19 applicants, with 17 completing payments for permits, plates, decals and operator badges. Approved applicants still must complete final steps including vehicle inspections and enhanced insurance coverage. The Government says the programme is intended to fill transportation gaps while maintaining its “taxi first, rideshare when needed” approach.
