Bermuda Day is traditionally a showcase for distance runners, but this year, champion sprinter Miles Outerbridge stood out among the lively crowds gathered for the afternoon parade. Outerbridge, fresh off a stellar performance at April’s CARIFTA Games in Trinidad and Tobago—where he claimed gold in the Boys’ Under-20 100 metres and added another medal to his collection—was honoured during the festivities by the Minister of Tourism, Transport, Culture and Sport, The Hon. Owen Darrell. Back on the Island for a few weeks after graduating from Montverde Academy in Florida, Outerbridge is making the most of his time at home. He spent the past two years at the prestigious boarding school, renowned for its elite track and field program.
